Last year, I pitched in and shot some B-Roll for the Cincinnati chapter of Creative Mornings. It was used in the application video they put together. The Cincinnati version of the series has been going strong for almost a year now, and they are a truly inspiring way to start a Friday. I set my footage to the smooth sounds of Nick Waterhouse to create the quick Cincy-centric video above.
A long while ago I shot this short little time-lapse of my favorite OTR watering hole and venue, MOTR Pub. Recently, I finally circled back around to stitch it together.
Over the past 5 years, I've been involved in one way or another with the Midpoint Music Festival. I completed a full rebrand of the indie-rock event in 2009 and have lent my talents in varying capacities each year. Having relocated north to Columbus, I was a little removed from this year's fest. However, I was luckily able to work with my Queen City Project compatriots to create a full-on QCP feature as well as the Midpoint Sessions. These intimate performances –from bands hand-picked by The Ridges– took place over Midpoint weekend in the Art Academy of Cincinnati. You can check out the feature above, Molly Sullivan's awesome performance below, and the rest of the performances over on the QCP MPMF post.
Pretty nice morning here atop OTR
Our houseguest, watching the snow come down.
A fun video I had the pleasure of putting together as a member of the Queen City Project. As always, amazing photos by Alias Imaging (and a few of my own) and our Framester-powered QCP boxtruck photo-booth. I think theis sums up the MPMF weekend experience pretty well: hectic, chaotic, well soundtracked and fun as hell. Can't wait for next year.
Day one of MPMF.12 is in the books. The Dirty Projectors put on a transcendent show at the historic Emory Theatre and Andrew Bird played a rousing set in the spectacular Washington Park. I was on hand with my camera, snapping photos on behalf of the Queen City Project. Round 2 tonight.
This past weekend, I was able to hop down to the brand new Washington Park and check out the first installment of the City Flea in its new OTR home. The park is incredible, and the City Flea was as bustling as ever. I snapped some photos, but couldn't stay long, I had a Reds game to get to.
Set of screen-printed posters for the Jon Langford show at MOTR Pub on June 1 as well as his art show at the Clay Street Press in OTR. The awesome dudes at Southpaw were kind enough to handle the printing duties for these. A limited run of 25 prints each were available at MOTR and CSP.
This is a video I had the pleasure of working on as a member of the Queen City Project, handling the editing and some of the photography duties. It premeired at the CEOs for Cities 2012 National Meeting here in Cincinnati, and it highlights the entrepreneurial awesomeness that's going on here in town. The awesome organizations involved, which I urge you to check out are:
SpringBoard Losantiville the Brandery Findlay Market Able Projects Mamluft and Co. Visualingual Ampersand Such & Such Choremonster Roadtrippers
A very limited edition (3) poster I put together for the Alabama Shakes free show at MOTR Pub tomorrow night. Not one you wanna miss, folks.
The first ever City Flea went down this past weekend on the corner of Vine and Central. There were tons of cool things to buy, eat and see. The organizers reached out to me to document the event, and the above video and below photos are what I saw. Give them a look, and spread the word because the City Flea is an awesome addition to downtown Cincinnati. See you at the next one (July 9).

As we continue to settle in to the new Libre spot on Main St, we're not letting a silly thing like unpacking get in the way of our productivity. We've knocked out three sharp posters over the past week, which you have no doubt noticed above. The Smith Westerns poster is currently hanging proudly at MOTR anticipating the sure to bonkers show on Saturday. The Javelin and MPMF Indie Summer prints were finished off last night, and will make their debut on the square tonight (Friday 6/3 for the You, You're Awesome (CD Release!) & Javelin show.
Tonight's festivities kick-off the summer long MPMF Indie Summer Series which bring high quality rock & roll to Fountain Square every Friday night. Libre plans on having a strong presence on the Square, with a new print each week, with a smattering of t-shirts and other hand-printed goods for your consumption.
As reward for getting yourself down to the Square and supporting the excellent MPMF.11 we'll be selling posters at a discounted price than you'll find at our shop (launching next week). See you on the square (and at MOTR).
Eat Local for the Globe poster contest. Posters were limited to one color and simply needed to express the theme of "Eat Local." I did not win, but was pleased with the results, so I thought I'd share. Maybe we'll do a run of something similar at Libre, we shall see. Congrats to the winners!
the National show at Music Hall last weekend and took the point-and-shoot along. Got mostly bad ones, but here's a few good ones. The show was part of the excellent 6th annual Music Now Festival, which curated by the National's Bryce Dessner.
